Local Customs & Disguises
Professor Roger Ashbauch
Lesson 1
As a spy, you will travel to exotic locations around the world. You will meet new and interesting people whose background differs greatly from your own. You will have to convince these people that you belong in their circles.
This course is aimed to teach you to research and act in a manner that will not reveal you as a spy.
In this each lesson, you will be given a scenario and your homework will be to decide the proper attire and customary actions to convince people that you belong there.
Scenario #1
You are investigating a drug ring which operates in the Khagrachari district in Bangladesh. You need to blend in with the native people in the area to prevent suspicion. Your task is to research the dress and habits of the area and answer the following questions. This is a written assignment (preferably in ESSAY form), but extra credit will be given if you complete your ID for this country (including dolling or drawing your character in the disguise).
Questions to Answer
1. What is my full name?
2. What is my occupation?
3. Where was I born?
4. What am I wearing?
5. What language is spoken in this area?
6. How do I say "Hello," "Goodbye," "Please," "Thank You," and "My name is…"?
7. What religion am I?
8. What sex am I?
9. What is my date of birth?
10. What currency (money) is used here?
11. Any other info that might be useful.
